« back to classes page

A recent international survey indicated that the major benefits of learning and applying project management skills include increased customer satisfaction, better resource planning and allocation, organizational goal achievement, increased profitability and quality improvement. In Essentials of Project Management, you’ll learn to define, charter, plan, monitor and control your projects. You will also gain comprehensive, practical techniques to complete your projects successfully. Each participant will receive a copy of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide.

Are you interested in becoming certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP)? The PMP certification, established by the Project Management Institute (PMI), is one of the most valued and respected credentials in project management. Earning and maintaining this certification demonstrates a solid foundation of experience in effectively managing projects. PMP certification requires you to first submit an application through PMI. The current application requires 35 hours of formal project management education in addition to between 4,500 - 7,500 hours of project management experience. Though the three-day Project Management Certificate program offered by Kent State University is not presented as an exam preparation program, it will provide you with 21 hours of project management education. Our certificate program is taught by a degreed engineer who is certified as a PMP and has over twenty years of hands-on experience managing projects
